As Proprietors, Chaz and Dona Cabela bring to Advanced Recovery Center a passion for recovery and a desire to help those struggling with the process, no matter what their individual challenges are. Being a family in recovery, they are dedicated to giving back to the community by providing the highest quality of treatment and services at the extended care level, in order to optimize the individual's success in treatment.

Founder, Clinical Consultant
With over 25 years experience in teaching, lecturing, clinical supervision, consulting, and direct patient care, Dr. Boriskin's clinical initiatives have significantly contributed to the treatment and understanding of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and chemical dependency. Dr. Boriskin is a nationally renowned speaker and author in these areas of expertise.





Clinical Staff
rehab, recovery, dual diagnosis Aldo Morales, M.D—Medical Director
Dr. Morales obtained his undergraduate degree in 1979 from Rutgers College of Pharmacy.  He obtained his M.D. degree in 1983 at Ross University.  He completed a four-year residency in Psychiatry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey–Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. With Board Certification in both Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry, Dr. Morales provides the requisite expertise in the assessment and management of Dual Diagnosis conditions.

In conjunction with the ARC treatment team, Dr. Keating provides psychological services to address the individual needs of our patients as they work through complex issues related to trauma and chemical dependency. Dr. Keating has over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health in research, direct patient care, intensive psychotherapy, extended treatment,clinical supervision, and administration. In addition, as a consultant, teacher, and lecturer, she has provided services internationally to non-profit organizations and universities.

In addition to providing psychological services to our patients working through issues related to trauma and chemical dependency, Dr. Gulko has expertise in the complex processes involved with eating disorder recovery. Dr. Gulko's career as a psychologist includes clinical private practice with a specialty in eating disorders Director of clinical supervision in a facility for the treatment of eating disorders, group, family and individual psychotherapy, and teaching. As part of her role at ARC she provides individual therapy to patients attempting to                                              maintain their recovery from eating disorders and food issues.

With over 25 years of experience, ranging from inpatient case management to the development of intensive outpatient programs, Mr. Wester brings a wealth of experience to the clinical team. He is experienced in mental health and addiction issues, and draws on years of experience treating the dually diagnosed patient.

Therapist
Mrs. Downard came to ARC in September 2005. A Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Nationally Board Certified Counselor, Betsy felt compelled to return to school after she became sober in 1991so that she could help others who were suffering from substance dependence. Betsy has been working in the field of addiction services since she graduated Nova Southeastern University in 1998 with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. She is Passionate about her own recovery, and passing it on to the patients at Advanced Recovery Center.

Ms. Bryson has extensive training and education in women's issues and the psychology of women. Although she is extremely skilled in treating both men and women, her focus is on women in addiction. As a specialist in PTSD, Ms. Bryson has had advanced training in DBT and EMDR. She has also developed and implemented comprehensive trauma resolution programs for various facilities. She is an expert on Dually Diagnosed patients with over 15 years experience.

—Therapist
Ms. Casey holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University. She has over 5 years if experience working with patients in both group and individual therapy modalities. Her background includes working with individuals struggling from both psychiatric and substance abuse issues, including those with PTSD and bipolar disorder

Ms. Edwards has over 25 years of clinical experience working with patients struggling with addition. Toni comes to ARC with a personal dedication to the field of recovery. She as worked with recovering clients in a highly diverse repertoire of settings, from the Department of Corrections to Father M. Martin's Ashley on the Chesapeake Bay. Her dedication is to helping patients understand the power of the disease of addiction, and the freedom to be found through the process of recovery.



Administrative Staff

Ms. Mayo has a background in office management, and has previously served as a housing coordinator at ARC. Carey is involved in the local recovering community, and is an alumnus of Advanced Recovery Center. Her duties include overseeing the ARC Alumni Association, the quarterly newsletter, patient outcome monitoring, and reporting patient statistics.

Kathryn has been a valued employee with ARC over six years and oversees the Coordinator Department; she works directly with the clinical staff and medical director.
Ms. Steward handles the day to day operations.  Ms. Steward is currently seeking her certification as an addictions counselor.

—Business Development and Community Relations Director
Mr. Rudd has over 15 years of experience working in the fields of mental health and substance abuse. In addition to his admissions/intake expertise, he has a wide range of experience in clinical application, continuing care implementation and referral development. His objective is to ensure that patients and referral sources have a successful transition into the ARC program.


Karen Kellejian, MA—Western Regional Marketing Representative
In addition to national marketing expertise, Ms. Kellejian, has worked in the mental health and substance abuse field for fifteen years. Her previous professional experience includes being on staff at both the Betty Ford Center and Sierra Tucson. Her experience in the clinical treatment of co-occurring disorders, clinical assessments and placements, and continuing care planning and referral resources provides a full range of skills to                                              assist families, patients and referents in the process of                                              transitioning into extended care treatment at ARC.





Optional Services

Reilly Sierra, LMT—Massage Therapist, Yoga Instructor
Ms. Sierra studied Craniosacral Therapy and Lymph Drainage at the Upledger Institute and practices Reflexology and Shiatsu. She was recently in China studying the traditional Chinese medicine massage techniques called Tuina and Food as Medicine. Reilly is also a Yoga Alliance registered Hatha Yoga instructor, and teaches classes weekly at ARC, in addition to individual massage sessions.

Amie Heinz, LMT—Massage Therapist
Ms. Heinz specializes in Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular, Swedish, Craniosacral and Reiki techniques. Amie has over two years experience working with clients to promote holistic healing and augment the therapeutic process.

Kenneth Yates, RD, LD—Nutritionist
Mr. Yates has 10 years of experience in the field of nutrition consultation and education along with expertise in physical fitness. His experience has included working with at-risk clients, and those with chronic health problems. Mr. Yates works with patients at ARC who need assistance in nutritional educational and intervention.
